James P. Benson — Founding Partner

Mr. Benson is a founding partner of Energy Spectrum Capital and a managing director of Energy Spectrum Advisors. His private equity responsibilities include origination of investment opportunities and monitoring of existing portfolio companies. His investment banking activities include origination and execution of merger, acquisition and divestiture assignments and private placement financings.

Mr. Benson has 16 years of investment banking, financial advisory and commercial banking experience. He served for 10 years as managing director with R. Reid Investments Inc., where his experience included private placements of debt and equity, acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Benson served four years at InterFirst Bank Dallas and was responsible for various energy financings and financial recapitalizations.

Mr. Benson received his B.S. in Finance from University of Kansas and his M.B.A. from Texas Christian University. Mr. Benson is also a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Prior to joining ESA, Mr. Gallatin served three years as Executive Vice President and manager of Energy Lending for Bank of Texas, an affiliate of BOK Financial. In addition, he has served as manager of other BOK Financial affiliated energy groups. Mr. Gallatin brings with him over 25 years of experience with financial institutions in various energy related fields, including all of the major mid-continent markets.

Mr. Gallatin leads ESA's regional office in Houston, Texas.

Damian S. Wells, P.E. — Senior Vice President

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors in 2006, Mr. Wells was a petroleum engineering consultant with Netherland, Sewell and Associates, Inc., in Dallas for 16 years. His work included project coordination, oil and gas property evaluations, reserves estimates, reservoir analyses, property sales packages, acquisition evaluations, fair market value determinations, geological studies, and secondary and tertiary recovery studies. Areas of specific expertise include the evaluation of the Barnett Shale in North Texas, the DJ Basin in Colorado, and South American properties. He also worked for five years as a reservoir engineer for Exxon Company U.S.A. Mr. Wells is a graduate of Texas A&I University with a B.S. degree in Natural Gas Engineering. He is a registered Professional Petroleum Engineer, State of Texas, and a member of the SPE.

Kevin W. Kuenn — Vice President

Mr. Kuenn worked in the downstream energy industry prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors in early 2007. Throughout his 10 year downstream career, Mr. Kuenn served in numerous commercial and technical leadership roles. In addition to his operational background, Mr. Kuenn has significant upstream financial transaction experience. Mr. Kuenn received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, and he was a Beta Gamma Sigma M.B.A. graduate of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. Mr. Kuenn is a member of various energy industry groups.

Robert H. (BJ) Brandenberger, Jr. — Vice President

After working as a consultant on various advisory assignments for Energy Spectrum Advisors in 2004 and 2005, Mr. Brandenberger officially joined the firm in 2006. Mr. Brandenberger earned his BBA in Finance with high honors from the University of Texas in Arlington, where he also played NCAA Division I baseball for four years.  Mr. Brandenberger is a member of various industry groups including the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors Inc in July 2006, Mr. Brookshire served as an Energy Analyst for Alpine Gas Company, L.L.C. Prior to Alpine Gas, Mr. Brookshire interned for Five States Energy Company in its corporate finance group where he focused on investment fund reporting. Mr. Brookshire earned his BBA and MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University with additional focus on geological sciences.

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors, Mr. Sherrer spent 10 years in oil and gas banking in the Mid-Continent and Appalachian basins.  Mr. Sherrer served three years as Vice President and manager of Oklahoma City Energy banking for Bank of Oklahoma, an affiliate of BOK Financial.  Prior to Oklahoma City, Mr. Sherrer was a banker for Bank of Oklahoma in Tulsa and the Appalachian basin.  Mr. Sherrer earned his B.S. in Business and M.B.A in Finance from Oklahoma State University.

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors in 2011, Mr. Woolley was a petroleum engineering consultant with Netherland, Sewell and Associates, Inc., in Dallas for 5 years. His work included project coordination, oil and gas property evaluations, reserves estimates, reservoir analyses, property sales packages, acquisition evaluations, geological studies, and secondary and tertiary recovery studies. As a reserves consultant Mr. Woolley evaluated oil and gas properties in the US Rockies, Western Canada, Barnett Shale, Gulf Coast, Southern California, and Mid-Continent.  Mr. Woolley also worked for four years as a reservoir engineer for BP plc. in both Houston developing properties in the Gulf of Mexico, and in Alaska developing the Prudhoe Bay water flood. Mr. Woolley is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering. He is a registered Professional Petroleum Engineer, State of Texas, and a member of the SPE.
