JAMES P. BENSON — Founding Partner

Mr. Benson is a founding partner of Energy Spectrum Capital and a managing director of Energy Spectrum Advisors. His private equity responsibilities include origination of investment opportunities and monitoring of existing portfolio companies. His investment banking activities include origination and execution of merger, acquisition and divestiture assignments and private placement financings.
Mr. Benson has 16 years of investment banking, financial advisory and commercial banking experience. He served for 10 years as managing director with R. Reid Investments Inc., where his experience included private placements of debt and equity, acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Benson served four years at InterFirst Bank Dallas and was responsible for various energy financings and financial recapitalizations.
Mr. Benson received his B.S. in Finance from University of Kansas and his M.B.A. from Texas Christian University. Mr. Benson is also a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

CHARLES M. LAPEYRE — Managing Director

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors in 1998, Mr. Lapeyre had 12 years of energy finance and petroleum engineering experience with several exploration and production companies, including two years most recently with Merit Energy Company and four years with Torch Energy Advisors and Nuevo Energy Company in senior financial management and business development positions. He also served for six years as a staff petroleum engineer with ARCO International Oil and Gas Company in Los Angeles. Mr. Lapeyre received his B.S. in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Tulsa and his M.B.A. with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin.

BENJAMIN H. DAVIS — Senior Vice President

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors at its formation in 1997, Mr. Davis was an analyst at R. Reid Investments Inc. for one year. Previously, Mr. Davis consulted for four years in the field of organizational management. Mr. Davis graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in Communications and Political Science. Mr. Davis is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Prior to joining ESA, Mr. Gallatin served three years as Executive Vice President and manager of Energy Lending for Bank of Texas, an affiliate of BOK Financial. In addition, he has served as manager of other BOK Financial affiliated energy groups. Mr. Gallatin brings with him over 25 years of experience with financial institutions in various energy related fields, including all of the major mid-continent markets.
Mr. Gallatin is currently running ESA’s new regional office in Houston, Texas.

DAMIAN S. WELLS, P.E. — Senior Vice President

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors in 2006, Mr. Wells was a petroleum engineering consultant with Netherland, Sewell and Associates, Inc., in Dallas for 16 years. His work included project coordination, oil and gas property evaluations, reserves estimates, reservoir analyses, property sales packages, acquisition evaluations, fair market value determinations, geological studies, and secondary and tertiary recovery studies. Areas of specific expertise include the evaluation of the Barnett Shale in North Texas, the DJ Basin in Colorado, and South American properties. He also worked for five years as a reservoir engineer for Exxon Company U.S.A. Mr. Wells is a graduate of Texas A&I University with a B.S. degree in Natural Gas Engineering. He is a registered Professional Petroleum Engineer, State of Texas, and a member of the SPE.

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors in 2007, Mr. Kuenn worked in the downstream chemicals industry. Throughout his 10 year career with Dow Chemical and Union Carbide, Mr. Kuenn served in numerous commercial and technical leadership roles. In addition to his operational background, Mr. Kuenn also has experience in the private equity and hedge fund markets. Mr. Kuenn received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, and he was a Beta Gamma Sigma M.B.A. graduate of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.

Prior to Alpine Gas, Mr. Brookshire interned for Five States Energy Company in its corporate finance group where he focused on investment fund reporting. Mr. Brookshire earned his B.B.A in Finance from Southern Methodist University with additional focus on geological sciences.

J. LEE CUMMINGS — Engineer

Prior to joining Energy Spectrum Advisors in March 2009, Mr. Cummings was an Engineering Assistant at Cawley, Gillespie & Associates for 3 years. His work included oil and gas property evaluations, reserves estimates, fair market value determinations and database conversions for oil and gas databases. Mr. Cummings is a graduate of the University of Texas in Arlington with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University.
